Martin Group is proud to announce a donation of INR 50 lakhs to Mega Foundations for the restoration of the 48.25 km Narayanan Canal in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. This vital project aims to revitalize lost water bodies along the East Coast Road (ECR), providing much-needed support to local communities, including farmers, fishermen, and cattle herders.

The restoration of Narayanan Canal is set to benefit over 5 lakh people across 455 villages in Ramanathapuram. By addressing the water crisis in rural areas, this initiative will have a profound impact on the lives of impoverished communities. The canal’s rehabilitation is expected to significantly enhance water access, feeding over 1,000 lakes and 2,500 small ponds, thereby ensuring a sustainable water supply for agricultural and domestic use.

Mrs. Leema Rose Martin, Director of Martin Group, officially handed over the cheque to Nimal Raghavan, Founder of Mega Foundations. The ceremony was also attended by Manochandar Appanadu, Founder of Youth and Farmers Assembly (AYFA), Sujitha Saravanan, Project Head at Mega Foundations, and Sundarakumar, a member of AYFA. Their collaborative efforts mark a significant milestone in the journey towards sustainable water management and community well-being.
