Over 80,000 Indians have died as a result of natural disasters in the past 20 years, according to research by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction. One of India's most destructive natural disasters was cloud-to-ground lightning. Millions of individuals in humanitarian disaster countries have thankfully been saved by disaster management NGOs.

Care India

Care India is one of India's oldest disaster management organizations. Care has been working in India for over 70 years on social causes such as disaster management, medical assistance, and livelihood for the underprivileged. This non-profit organization was established in 1946 with the goal of alleviating poverty and social injustice in order to make the world a better place for the underprivileged. Care India was founded to empower women and girls who are victims of poverty and discrimination. Care India has continued working in 19 different Indian states over the last few years, assisting huge numbers of people in disaster-affected districts.

Smile Foundation

Smile Foundation is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Delhi and strives to improve the lives of underprivileged kids and the families that depend on them after the Covid-19 disaster. Smile Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports a number of social causes, such as disaster relief, women's empowerment, and education for underprivileged children. It was originally established in 2002 by a group of young social activists. Given that India is prone to natural disasters like tsunamis, earthquakes, and floods, Smile Foundation is well recognized for launching crisis management during these events. The Smile Foundation has responded quickly to save the lives of thousands of disaster-affected individuals and to assist their access to education, healthcare, and a means of subsistence, from the earthquake in Kashmir in 2005 to the floods in Uttarakhand in 2013.

Rapid Response

Rapid Response, one of the biggest disaster relief organizations in India, was established by Mr. Farukh in 2013. It actively works to offer immediate aid and protracted solutions to major disaster victims. Rapid Response has safeguarded the lives of more than 7 lakh victims of 26 disasters, including earthquakes, cloud bursts, and floods, by becoming the first NGO to respond to the crisis. Rapid Response is renowned for moving swiftly to help families afflicted by natural disasters by giving them food, clothing, and necessities while also assisting in their rehabilitation.

HindRise

On October 22, 2018, the Uttar Pradesh-based Non-Governmental Organisation was established with the goal of improving the circumstances of underprivileged communities fighting against the injustices that pervade society. It is well-known that HindRise assists COVID-affected families and provides relief supplies to daily wage workers. In addition, HindRise works for disaster management in many Indian states, taking important steps to guard against disasters having an adverse effect on the lives of the less fortunate. As a nonprofit organization that responds to disasters, Hindrise has provided underprivileged communities with flood emergency relief such as drinking water facilities, distribution of food, and healthcare and medical assistance during natural disasters.

Help Age India

Help Age India was established in 1978 with the goal of enhancing the lives of senior citizens. Due to its outstanding work in the area of aging and response to the COVID pandemic, it just became the first and only Indian organization to receive the "UN Population Award 2020." HelpAge India provides fundamental aged requirements, such as medical care and action against elder abuse, to the 138 million old who are currently receiving assistance throughout India. Helpage India is taking action during the Covid-19 pandemic to make sure that the underprivileged elderly and their families receive vaccinations and food so they may improve their nutritional intake and immune systems.
