Programs Organizes by Santiago Martin

Working towards the betterment of society is the need of the hour for the advancement of our country. The striking differences between rich and poor have segregated the Indian population into two different strata and resulted in the emergence of the "middle class".

To decrease the growing gap between the higher and lower class, providing a chance of livelihood to the poor, Mr. Santiago Martin has continued to contribute towards elevating the social condition of the Indian subcontinent.

The social activities organized include food distribution programs, lending support during relief material, helping out people from economically backward societies, educating students, among other CSR activities.

Santiago Martin also built Charitable Trust to support the needy and poor.

The programs organized by Martin Charitable Trust include

Donating Relief Materials: The Indian subcontinent has time and again experienced numerous natural disasters in the past years and the Covid-19 pandemic is simply adding to the list. Martin Group of Companies has constantly donated money to the Chief Minister of numerous states.

Cyclone Gaja: Cyclone Gaja affected numerous districts in Tamil Nadu, as a donation towards the rehabilitation of the place, Santiago Martin on behalf of the Martin Charitable Trust donated Rs. 5 crores to former Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami.

Besides this, Martin Charitable Trust assisted the local authorities in evacuating and spreading awareness through radio in nearby villages.

People affected by the storm received access to important supplies and services including shelter, water, sanitation, clothes, food, and medical assistance.

Apart from this, they also donated relief material worth Rs. 1 crore for the rehabilitation of flood-hit regions in Assam.

Reducing Inequalities in Education: Santiago Martin thinks that transition will come only when education becomes a priority, and people become conscious of their surroundings. Stressing more on this, Martin Group of Companies reached out to the schools in remote villages to bolster the condition of education by adopting numerous schools. In the past year, they have supported different schools in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, offering education to thousands of children who came from downtrodden families.

Martin Group together with APJ Abdul Kalam Foundation and Space Foundation provided a chance to 1000 government students in Chennai and nearby villages to design 100 FEMTO Satellites.

Food Outreach Programmes

Martin Charitable Trust has organized numerous food outreach programs to fill the stomachs of the poor, homeless, and those who suffered the foremost during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Through this program, they managed to reach thousands of people from the farthest corners of Tamil Nadu. The meal that was cooked was highly nutritious including protein-rich foods like chicken, eggs, etc.

Helping out economically backward classes

Martin Foundation has constantly lent full support to people from economically backward classes in the form of donating money for different initiatives.
