Indian women sports players in recent times are slowly yet steadily proving their skills, talent, and resilience by rising above their hardships and circumstances. They have time and again grabbed countless medals and brought numerous laurels to our country in their respective fields of sports.

One such player is Srinithi Malavika, a shotgun and pistol shooter. A resident of Coimbatore, she has frequently and persistently brought fame and glory to our country and state by representing it in several national and international competitions.

Shooting is a marksmanship sport in which players use rifles, handguns (pistols and revolvers), and shotguns, etc., to fire at various targets. Srinithi Malavika is all set to represent India in the All India Nationals which is going to take place in the month of November, this year.

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has announced the dates for National Shooting Championships 2021 from November 18th to December 14th. This competition will be held in Delhi, Bhopal, and Patiala.

The Nationals (India’s) Domestic Shooting Competition is finally being held after a long gap of almost two years. The last meet took place from December 7, 2019, to January 4, 2020, and was held in the city of Bhopal.

The 64th National Shooting Championships were scheduled for April however got postponed and cancelled by the NRAI due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 global pandemic and an unexpected increase of COVID-19 cases in March 2020.

Martin Charitable Trust funded shotgun ammunition worth Rs. 3 Lakhs to Srinithi Malavika as she was selected to represent All India Nationals in November 2021..

The main goal behind this fund was to empower Indian women athletes. Martin Charitable Trust realised that the need of the hour was sports equality where there is fairness, equality of access, recognizing inequalities, and taking necessary steps to address them. Thus, the contribution was made by Martin Charitable Trust to not only encourage and support women athletes but also build fair and gender and social equality sports in India.
