Many people all across the world were afflicted by the COVID-19 epidemic. Several countries, including India, succumbed to it within a time frame of two years. This devastating disease which came in the year 2019 has claimed the lives of millions of people.In India, the second wave was deadlier than the first wave, making the situation worse and causing trouble to people from all walks of life. Many people suffered across the states, including the state of Tamil Nadu

Despite the tremendous increase of COVID-19 cases, changemakers, NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations), and many individuals from all around the world tried their best to aid vulnerable people and families combat the deadly COVID-19 epidemic.

The Martin Charitable Trust has a long history of engaging and working with a wide variety of organizations in the fields of Social, Cultural, Educational, Healthcare, etc. The trust has repeatedly given its best to promote equality and enhance the lives of the citizens of our state and the country.

Let's have a look at some of the initiatives and efforts that were taken by Martin Charitable Trust in the years 2020 and 2021.

Martin Charitable Trust contributes 3,500 essential medical kits worth Rs. 4 Lakhs to COVID-19 patients

As one of its CSR activities, Martin Charitable Trust helped people fight the COVID-19 crisis. Dr. Leema Rose Martin, the Managing Trustee of the Martin Charitable Trust, along with Honorable Minister Thiru Ma. Subramanian, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu, distributed around 3500 essential medical kits worth Rs 4,00,000 (4 Lakhs) to patients who were infected by COVID-19 patients and admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

This large and significant contribution was made on 14th October 2021.

Martin Charitable Trust donated COVID-19 relief materials worth Rs. 3 Crores

Martin Charitable Trust also extended its support to the people of Tamil Nadu earlier in the year 2021. In order to help the State Government fight the COVID-19 pandemic in Tamil Nadu, Martin Charitable Trust donated COVID-19 relief materials worth Rs. 3 Crores to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund (CMPRF).

The COVID-19 relief materials were handed over to the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. M.K. Stalin in the presence of Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin, MLA, by Rtn. AKS. Dr. Leema Rose Martin, Managing Trustee, Martin Charitable Trust, Ms. Daisy, Director of Martin Group, and Dr. M. George Marshall, COO - Martin Group.

Martin Charitable Trust donated Rs. 5.5 lakhs worth of Oxygen Concentrators

The Managing Trustee of Martin Charitable Trust, Rtn. AKS. Dr. Leema Rose Martin also donated Rs. 5.5 Lakh worth of oxygen concentrators to the government hospitals in Coimbatore. This donation included three 10 litres Oxygen Concentrators and four 7 litres Oxygen Concentrators that were provided to both Government Medical Hospital and ESI Hospital, in Coimbatore.

Martin Charitable Trust took the step and conducted this initiative on behalf of the parent firm, Martin Group.
